"One night in 2007, I went to see a production, in an unprepossessing little theatre space in New York, of a stage version of the great film Dog Day Afternoon … it's the most exciting theatre I saw in the year of 2007, and one of the most exciting that I've seen in several years. The immediacy of it … the raw and disciplined power of the acting, the sheer inventiveness of the staging, and the sense of how that inventiveness can arise from the most limited circumstances, in a way even because of those circumstances, was thrilling … remarkable company. I feel refreshed just thinking about it. I wish them well, because to wish them well is to wish us all well." – Austin Pendleton (My Cousin Vinny, Catch-22, HBO's OZ)
"I work with young theatre-troupes around the globe, and Barefoot Theatre Company is one of my favorites…serious, talented, meticulous, thoroughly professional troupe, reflecting the sort of ethnic mix that makes NYC such a vibrant, delicious city. If you want to see authentic NYC theatre, skip Broadway...hop to Barefoot Theatre Company." – Israel Horovitz (World-renowned playwright)
"…professional…skillful…exemplified what true theatre is about — serious and committed actors …challenging and innovative theatre. It is the life's blood of the future of our theatre." – Lynn Cohen (Speilberg's Munich, Sex and the City, Vanya on 42nd Street)
"I have great respect and affection for The Barefoot Theatre Company, which is committed to producing theatre that explores the human character and condition in truthful, complex ways, and which creates the work with enormous respect for the artists and the working process." – Mary Gallagher (Award-winning playwright of ¿De Donde?)
"…of all the companies I've worked for…Barefoot is the one I most respect, most enjoyed working with, and most expect to see as a full-throttle professional, Off-and-On-Broadway company in the future." – Anna Chlumsky (Company Member, My Girl, 30 Rock, Cupid)
