Barefoot Theatre Kids RETURNS to Bay Ridge Prep!
A place where young actors study, play & grow.
FALL 2011
8 week session beginning October 3rd. All classes held at Bay Ridge Prep after school in the library.
CREATIVE MOVEMENT (1st and 2nd Grade)— We will explore the link between the imagination and the body through music, storytelling, props, and costumes. We will move creatively and expressively, strengthen our physical coordination, and collaborate with others in a fun and imaginative environment. 1st & 2nd Grade - 8 week session. Beginning Thursday, October 6th, 2:30pm - 4pm. Class Fee: $250
THEATRE ARTS (3rd & 4th Grade)— In this introductory acting class students will develop the fundamental skills of acting in a fun and supportive environment! Students will participate in games and exercises that involve imagination, focus, listening, responding, and group collaboration. This is a great way for children to explore their creativity, gain confidence, and develop a passion and appreciation for the arts. 3rd & 4th Grade - 8 week session. Beginning Monday, October 3rd, 2:30pm - 4pm. Class Fee: $250

Nicole Haran holds a BA from Boston University and an MFA from Brooklyn
College. She began her professional career as an actress on stage and in film.
Her focus shifted to directing in graduate school where she co-founded The
Barefoot Theatre Company, directing numerous plays including Orphans by
Lyle Kessler, Home Free! & Rimers of Eldritch by Lanford Wilson. In 2008
Nicole began her film work; writing, directing and editing short films.

Therese Plaehn comes to us originally from Scituate, Massachusetts and is a proud aunt of 14 nieces and nephews. She recently graduated with her MFA in acting from the American Repertory Theatre/Moscow Art Theatre's Institute at Harvard University. She received her BA in English from Providence College and studied arts at the National University of Ireland, Galway for a year. She is thrilled to be teaching with Barefoot!

Lisa Anderson holds a BFA in Acting from Brooklyn College and has a background in dance and physical theatre. Most recently, Lisa was a member of the resident Lab Company at the Hanger Theatre in Ithaca, NY. Lisa is excited to be a part of Barefoot Theatre Kids!
